Manager: Jacare on standby for Bisping bout, will ‘massacre’ Brit if 'Hendo' pulls out

After losing out on what he felt was
his rightful title shot against current
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)
middleweight champion Michael
Bisping to Dan Henderson, "Jacare" is
still preparing for a championship
fight.
That’s according to his manager
Gilberto Faria, who recently told MMA
Junkie that the Brazilian bomber is
prepared to step in as a late
replacement if needed.

"(UFC President) Dana already knows
it," Faria said in a prepared statement.
"If a replacement is needed for
Manchester, or the fans get to turn it
around, ‘Jacare’ vs. Bisping would be a
massacre.

According to Faria, Souza has plenty of
fans supporting him in his mission and
they are letting company president
Dana White know who they feel is the
rightful owner of the 185-pound title
shot.

"We are seeing a lot of fans putting
pressure on Dana and on Bisping, and
‘Jacare’ might still get the shot at
Bisping," he said.

In addition, Gilberto says "Hendo" had
no weight to earn a shot at the title
given his recent track record. But at
the end of the day, it was Bisping who
asked for (and received) the fight he
wanted.

Something the manager thought was
odd.

"The only thing that really bothers us
was Bisping being able to ask for a
fight against ‘Hendo’ and get his
wishes fulfilled," he said.

"We understand that Bisping is rolling
with 10 good years of services for the
company, but Dan Henderson still sits
at number 13 in the ranking, lost six
out of nine fights, his recent victory
was against Hector Lombard that just
came from a loss at welterweight
division, so it doesn’t weight that much
for a title shot.
